About Us

Adventure Whitewater, a Nepali owned and operated company, was formed in 1992 and has been growing in reputation ever since. Maintaining a 100% safety record, we arrange safe and fun river trips throughout Nepal. Whether you are a nervous beginner or an experienced thrill-seeker, we will ensure the adventure of your lifetime.

Our Internationally experienced guides, skilled as boat captain, Chef, trained in CPR, first-aid and river rescue…all this combine give you an extra value exploring the remote countryside and natural beauty of Nepal, which is never possible without river trips. We can organize individual or group trips on a wide range of rivers by Raft, Kayak, double Catamaran or by new Bublick. We also run a popular kayak school for beginner and expedition for expert kaykers.

It is our privilege to share the excitement of Nepal’s beautiful rivers. Many of our previous clients have become friends and regularly send their friends to us when they cannot come themselves!

Our Way of Adventure Business:

We love the wilderness of Nepal and wish to share it with all our clients and friends. We are committed to provide an exciting, fun and adventurous experience in an extremely safe environment. Through rafting and kayaking we offer you unforgettable experiences and hope to make your dreams come true.
Our business philosophy is to be progressive; running new rivers, trying new things, catering for the special needs for our participants and working hard to provide the very best service possible.

Help: We at Adventure Whitewater are happy to help our local communities by donating a percentage of our profits to the education and health of the children in eastern parts of Nepal. Since 1996 AW is regularely paying for a teacher of "Shree Shiva Shakti Primary School" Mechchhe-5 Kavre District. This is a concept that we hope to expand throughout the country in the near future.
Our Guides
Bidur Thapaliya: (Rafting guide, Safety Kayaker & Kayak Instructor)
Bidur comes from village Mechchhe-5, Kavre east of Nepal. He has been kayaking and guiding for many years and has a wealth of experience of white water all over the world. He likes nothing more than taking his kayak and a group of enthusiastic participants to explore the unchartered white water of the hidden rivers of Nepal and around.
Ram Sharan Bhandari: ( Rafting guide, Safety Kayaker and Kayak instructor)
Ram Sharan comes from Baireni, a small village next to to Trisuli river. He was introduced to rafting by seeing many rafting groups float past his village. Since then he always wanted to work on the river as a guide. He has been living his dream for 3 years with AW with a total of 6 years guiding experience on Nepalese rivers. He was recently part of an expedition on the Upper Arun gorge with the Siberian Extreme Team and always does very well when participating in national rafting and kayaking events.
He often provides the entertainment at the riverside camps with a variety of tricks and puzzles.

Som Bdr. Bishokarma: (Rafting guide)
Som is from Chitwan, near Royal Chitwan National Park. He has been working with us for 4 years with 9 years guiding experience in Nepal. One of his many interests is of the local cultures of the country. He provides a wealth of information about the customs of the people that live along the rivers of Nepal. Being from Chitwan he is also very knowledgeable of the wildlife of the Terai and other areas of Nepal. Som also rows the supply raft on some of our longer trips.

Rajendra Thapaliya: (Rafting guide, Safety Kayaker and Kayak instructor)
Rajendra comes from Mechchhe, a small village east of Kathmandu. When he finished school he wanted to do something adventurous so in 1997 he started rafting with us! One of his favorite aspects of being a river guide is to cook up great meals for all the hungry crew members. He loves to laugh and is frequently the entertainer of the group.

Shankar Kumar Shrestha: (Rafting guide, Safety Kayaker)
He has been working with us for 5 years, with 7 years guiding experience in Nepal. He enjoys being a rafting guide, but likes to be in his kayak best of all! Even after a tiring day of rafting he is usually a singer, a dancer and all round fun guy in the evening camps.
Mani Lama: (Trainee Rafting Guide and Kayaker)
Mani has just joined Adventure Whitewater, but already we are hearing very positive comments about this trainee guide. Mani loves being on the river and meeting people from different cultures. He is an excellent ambassador for Nepal, providing detailed information about the people, their lifestyles and nature of the country. He is excellent entertainer as you will see from the evening camps, he is also a stunning dancer, though you may not see evidence of this on the river.
Saroj Thapaliya: (Trainee Rafting guide and Safety Kayaker)
Saroj comes from Panthali small village, east of Kathmandu. He has been working for 3 years with AW, though he has been rafting and paddling all of the permitted rivers in Nepal since 1997 Saroj often provides the muscle power rowing the supply raft on the longer trips.
Saroj is an extremely patient rescue kayaker and enjoys meeting people from many different countries
